Our dedicated in house team has developed our proprietary portfolio management system (PAMS). PAMS is a comprehensive investment management system – currently holding over 8,000 individual positions – that enhances Stone Tower’s ability to identify relative and intrinsic value. It also links several third party analytical systems and data resources allowing the team to:
- Analyze and determine the hold-to-maturity value of mortgage-related and other fixed income securities using a consistent analytical approach
- Price entire universe of underlying loan portfolios of public CLOs and examine market value coverage of CLO tranches thus yielding an assessment of the attractiveness of individual positions and comparison of relative across various positions
- Monitor all positions in one place and stratify them by portfolio, asset class, collateral manager, issuer, underwriter, ratings, servicer, trustee and monoline
- Electronically surveil each position via Stone Tower performance triggers, rating changes and price changes that are communicated to the team via automated e-mails and reports
- Conduct orderly auctions of mortgage-backed assets and other fixed income
- Monitor leverage loan, bond and equity positions across various portfolios
- Surveil detailed borrower characteristics including loan facility description, pricing, ratings and current and historical financial ratios
- Provide daily loan reports showing price and rating changes, and repayments and new borrowing by companies across portfolios
- Automated e-mail capability disseminates current credit news and comments on covered companies
